The Kochi Prefectural Museum of Art is Kochi’s premier arts institution. It houses an impressive collection of the works of Marc Chagall as well as local artists such as Yamawaki Shintoku. The gallery organizes regular events, such as film screenings, dance, poetry readings and concerts.
From Kochi Station, take a tram to Harimaya-bashi (3rd stop). Transfer to the east-west line, heading east (left). Take the tram to Kenritu Bijutsukan Dori (9th stop from Harimaya-bashi). Walk north (left) for 3 mins, crossing a bridge. The Art Gallery is the large black and white building on the left.
