Port of Dangjin

Dangjin Port became one of Korea’s five large ports with the drastic increase of the logistics volume in 2013. The logistics volume for the past five years has increased by about 2.7times and it recorded an annual average increase rate of 22.6%. Dangjing Port is connecting the metropolitan area and major cities in Chungcheongnam-do as the one-hour living zone. And it is creating a huge consumer market with 29.5 million people within the 100km radius. It is possible to reduce logistics cost with the shortest distance to the trade ports in China (Dalian port 482km, Qingdao port 593km). Dangjin Port is creating various cargoes processing foundation by developing from pre-existing steel-focused port development and is realizing the functions of a comprehensive trade port by processing various cargoes, such as goods, grains, cement, liquids, etc. Dangjin Port is located within the Asian gulf, surrounded by land and it is barely affected by typhoons and tsunamis, moreover, the cargo transportation delays due to adverse climate are rare.
